INT. HALLWAY AT FIRE STATION - LATE DAY

Seymour, Eddie and Joe have just run out (slightly to screen left) chasing the villainous Walter.

We hear a toilet flush. Max exits the bathroom, holding a beer. (Looking slightly to screen left)

MAX

Hey, where you guys goin'?

The door shuts loudly. Max is startled.

He stands there a moment, confused. He looks around him. Then he shrugs and walks into the other room.

(Cut to Seymour and Eddie chasing Walter)

INT. OFFICE AT FIRE STATION - EVENING

Max is sitting in a chair in the office. He looks bored. He twiddles his thumbs. Takes a sip of beer. Twiddles his thumbs. Takes a sip of beer.

INT. OFFICE AT FIRE STATION - EVENING - LATER

Similar shot. Max is building a house out of cards. It is as large as we can make it. It falls down. Max looks disappointed.

INT. OFFICE AT FIRE STATION - EVENING - LATER

"Higher and Higher" (performed by Jackie Wilson, or you could also use Howard Huntsberry from the GB2 album) is playing over the radio (not too loudly). Max sings and dances along to it.

(Note: Shoot a bit of this, I might not even use it at this point in the film, but I have some footage of the other Ghostbusted crew dancing, and will cut together much more of this footage for the end credits, as a montage.)

INT. OFFICE AT FIRE STATION - EVENING - LATER

Similar shot. If any Ghostbusters action figures can be found, Max boredly arranges them on the desk. Otherwise, more bored stuff .... he whistles and picks up a comic book.

A woman, DANA, enters, a little bit nervously.

DANA

Um ... hi, is this the office for the Ghostbusters?

Max is startled to see her .... he drops his papers and spills beer all over the desk. He proceeds to embarrass himself.

MAX

(nervously)

Yes, yes, hi, we're the Ghostbusters, well, there's no we here right now, I don't know where the other guys are, but I'm a Ghostbuster, hi, I bust ghosts, do you need some ghosts busted?

She laughs slightly.

DANA

Are you for real?

MAX

I think so, yeah. (thinks) What do you mean?

DANA

I kinda don't know who else to come to. People keep laughing at me.

MAX

Why would they laugh at you?

DANA

I think my cat is possessed by the devil.

Max laughs, then catches himself.

MAX

Sorry.

DANA

Yeah, yeah, I know.

She turns to leave, but Max stops her.

MAX

No, no, wait, come back. You've come to the right place, really. Let's have a look at this cat of yours.

INT. DANA'S HOME - NIGHT

The cat glares up at Max evilly. It hisses at him.

MAX

Here, kitty kitty kitty.

It scratches at his face.

MAX

Ow!

It hisses at him again.

MAX

Ma'am, has this cat been spayed or neutered?

DANA

No. I wouldn't do that do a poor kittycat.

MAX

There's your answer then. Your cat isn't possessed. It's just horny.

A pause as Max and Dana look at each other. A long pause. Dana smiles.

(cut to Seymour, Eddie, and Joe in end battle)

INT. BEDROOM - NIGHT

Max and Dana are lying in bed together.

DANA

So what was up with that whole Ghostbuster thing?

MAX

What do you mean?

DANA

I mean it's cute and all, but what made you want to be a Ghostbuster?

MAX

I wanted to be a Ghostbuster ever since I was a kid. What, didn't you ever have any childhood dreams?

DANA

Yeah. I wanted to be Spiderman.

MAX

What?

DANA

Actually, I still want to be Spiderman. I built my own webshooters ...

MAX

What?

DANA

You want to see my costume?

MAX

Yes.
